My pieces represent a lighthearted way of being that is rooted in an appreciation for all that connects us. We all share the experience of inhabiting our bodies in a world of wondrous flora, fauna, people and places. I choose to turn my work’s focus on what is joyous, fun and even silly, as this has always been what brings me peace in even the most trying of circumstances. While my underpaintings and origin sketches may be controlled and exact, I enjoy a process of application that is expressive and free. As paint drips and moves along the canvas, I am lost in my work yet fully present to it. In many ways, these paintings are my meditation.
